Scarlet Clouds

When kings begin to quarrel
And fury does abound
Ye can be sure to hear the purr
Of baneful beasts in town
When scarlet clouds hang overhead
And darken doorways black
They shan't be long appearing
Like drips appear through cracks
The hearts of all burn hotly
The rulers rise to speak
The people oft' decide to fight
And revel in their feats
No matter what the causes are
The ends are all the same
A mountain made of bodies
The living lost in pain
As kings address their people
Look and you shall see
Perched upon their shoulders
The creatures jump with glee
Their teeth are long for biting
Their tails do bind and choke
They long for naught but fighting
Their words are dark as smoke
Be ye of the soundest mind
Leave no thought astray
For peril prowls 'round every wall
Seeking feeble prey
No matter what the causes are
The ends are all the same
A mountain made of bodies
The living lost in pain
