The Wibilob Nibbled on a Tree

The Wibilob gnawed on the trunk of a tree
If only somebody had been there to see
To stop the shenanigans right at their source
To stop the tree falling with such a great force
But alas it came down
With a creak and a crack
And a wallop and thud
And a whoosh and a whack
The tree broke beams
And toppled stones
And ruined the roof
Of an old man's home
His neighbours assembled
To mend what was broken
Theories of what had occured
There were spoken
The old man was patient
Or at least tried to be
While rainwater poured in
And cooled down his tea
